the bi-monthly Delilah

Bah! It's been so long that Delilah is practically a teenager! Sorry for being such a bad blogger.

To appease you, here are a few new pics:

Delilah is tall enough to look out the (low) windows and scout for the cat, the most exciting thing in the world.

That green blob is my butt under a blanket on the couch. Madison is just off camera to the right. A good nap.

I am emphatically anti-dressing-up-dogs. Still, when Rudy was a puppy in Jan 2006, we had a snowstorm coming so I quickly knit up a little sweater with a hole in the top for his harness and leash. Since we are headed to Iowa for Thanksgiving - with ALL FOUR DOGS. IN THE CAR. I decided to pull out Rudy's sweater and try it on Delilah. It fits, and she is thrilled. Obviously.

Delilah is ready for Iowa

So it's been a difficult autumn. Things are looking up, though, so I plan to be posting daily again. Oh, and I got the new whamadyne iPhone 4s, so expect better everyday pictures.

Anne's Beach

Delilah seems to be dreaming of the Keys with me
We are lucky enough to have a couple of paintings, and a couple of prints, by John David Hawver of Islamorada. They are gorgeous. We bought them for our 25th anniversary while we were in Key Largo, and they remind us of our island home. Bob caught Delilah looking at "Anne's Beach" while sitting on our bed.

Nice light in the evening

Love the structure of this pic

Light through the magnolias

See the fairy dancing on the studio?

I've been remiss

so here are a few pics from the past few days. I keep trying to upload video with no success. If you know how, please tell me!

Sometimes Delilah finds it difficult to keep her back feet from sliding out from under her on the wood floors.

Delilah co-sleeps, whether they want it or not.

Ditto.

If I could upload the video, you would see the blur that is Delilah when she is NOT sleeping. She is a playful pup, and oh so entertaining when she is doing aerial 360s and hanging on her brothers' ears.

Training

is so much easier with the big dogs doing the teaching.

Happy nappy

A nice nap after a rough trip to the vet. Don't know what MY excuse is.

Sit!

It's so much easier to train a puppy who has big brothers and sisters.

Delilah is getting a new ruff! See the fuzzy points on her chest? Someday it will be curls, just like Nemo.

Let's each take an end of this stick

This didn't last long

Tried to get a picture of all four of them together. Ha! Still, aren't they gorgeous?

Truce!

The first time Nemo hasn't jumped up and run away from Delilah

I forgot about this picture I took last night. Nemo has been very slow to accept the little usurper Delilah. He has tried to avoid her, even refusing to go up the steps if she is at the top. So it was a pleasant surprise to see them cuddled up on the couch.

And if the puppies aren't cute enough, here's today's picture of Lincoln.

Lincoln looking at knitting needles. Just looking.

Cavalier Camp

This is one full truck cab.

So we are headed to Dubuque tomorrow morning early, to visit Em and Josh and baby Lincoln. Joe is coming over from Chicago, too. It's never easy to decide what to do with the dogs, but this time the breeder offered to take them all for the weekend. Delilah will bunk with her sister (who leaves for VA next week) and Rudy, Nemo and Madison get to hang out with their original pack.

The house is quiet. I can't imagine life without these dogs anymore!

Pics of Lincoln on the way...

Big head

She doesn't really have a gigantic head. Love the pic, though.

Delilah drinks out of the big bowl. She's keeping up with the big dogs, too.

Mary and Nathan

Nephew Nathan snuggling with Delilah. They are having a great time together.

My sister Mary and her son Nathan are visiting from Maine. We love to see them and we always have a good time when they're here --- but this visit they are especially helpful with little Delilah. Nathan has been supervising and snuggling. Life is good.
